This is Coy Mathis, a transgender 6 year old living in Colorado. It just so happens that my brother is in her class at Eagleside Elementary School in Fountain, Colorado. When I asked my brother how he felt about Coy he said, “She’s got really cool hair and we play on the slides at recess.” I asked what he thought about Coy’s decision to be a girl and he said, “She is a girl. She just got the wrong body on accident.” How is a 6 year old more understanding and accepting of her than many of the adults at Eagleside Elementary?
those are shirts that literally read “tits man” and “ass man.”
brb crying.
That’s disappointing, overall, but the fact that I originally read the one shirt as saying “Man Tits” (it’s early, what can I say) I was especially disappointed when I realized it wasn’t some kind of fatspirational self-acceptance message.
So I’m sitting here watching DVDs of newsradio and my TV caught fire.
Joe rogan is posting some kind of transphobic shit on his twitter about a trans female MMA fighter, claiming it’s unethical that she didn’t declare her trans status.
There’s a lot in the news about trans people and bathrooms.. I’m thinking… Why?
So my kid just ended a friendship with a kid who is continually mean and shitty to her by telling her I said she wasn’t allowed to hang with this kid anymore.
As proud as I am of her for recognizing toxic friends, did she really have to throw me under the bus?
